Japan’s KAPITAL clothing is a renowned institue and a ‘must see’ when visiting Tokyo. The denim label is well known for its secrecy and rarely stocked outside the Japan stores. However, at February’s Project Wooster at the Magic trade shows, the brand was showing their wares for the first time, marking a notable change from their ‘closed doors’ nature.
Last week we were pretty excited to hear that London’s Anthem has now started stocking the brand.
We’ve shown a lot of fan-love to Kapital in the past so it was great to see key pieces from their S/S 12 collection on London soil.
Anthem has a select number of pieces from the label including traditional Japanese Boro and tattoo-inspired embroidered shirts, silver concho buttons on heavyweight knitwear, their artisanal selvedge raw denim jeans and a beautiful shawl collar coat. We look forward to hearing about the reception of the collection from Anthem soon and where Kapital might next be seen in the world after their trade show debut in Las Vegas…
