Just Cavalli

Milan: Although a more youthful counterpart to the designer’s eponymous label, Just Cavalli does not usually skimp on the va-va-voom sexiness that characterizes the luxury line. This season, however, Cavalli took a surprising turn; sweet cherries replaced animal prints (for the most part), prim dirndls replaced flirty cocktail dresses, and fluid pajama pants stood in for metallic leggings. While all the print mixing, girly flounces and bold color combinations were a bit too sweet at times, the more restrained ladylike looks – like a deconstructed tweed suit (sans the petal-shaped patches) and a wispy chiffon shift dress – signaled a promising new direction for the brand.
