Joshephus Thimister

Paris: Post-apocalyptic warrior is a character that has been reinvented on many runways, for better and for worse. Josephus Thimister’s Fall 2011 collection fell somewhere in between the two: while treading what has become familiar, if not trite, territory (Rick Owens comes to mind), there were some flashes of inspiration, primarily in the choice of fabrics by Thimister and the attention to detail (a strength of this designer, who also creates a couture collection). There were some takeaway pieces from this collection, but in the end, the sense of intended drama seemed lost in a sea of sameness.
