Paris: Joseph is a brand respected for it’s luxury essentials and it’s Louise Trotter’s challenge to elevate the everyday season after season. For resort she did not disappoint! Trotter looked back to the 90’s as her influence; “..the simplicity, naturalness, ease and honesty of dressing at that time.” And so an anorak opened the show, (but in double-faced cashmere, of course!) Street style staples were referenced in the most luxurious of fabrics: track pants with matching t-shirts came in soft nubuck suede and nappa leather in muted shades of grey, brown and peach nougat. A simple white tee came twisted, knitted and smothered in satin, gaining instant eveningwear approval. Cut, faded and pasted checks and inside out florals channelled a pretty-with-an-edge vibe, whilst neatly pleated skirts came layered over trousers (so 90’s!) , or in washed viscose for a more languid look. In fact, the versatility of the collection showed no bounds; shirts doubled as jackets whilst a crisp white parka could be worn as a dress- Trotter invites you to layer to your hearts content! – Anna Ross
