Jonathan Colors Up

New York…Jonathan Saunders

After a rather toned-down fall show with its neutral palette, Jonathan Saunders returned to using the bright colors he is known for. To start, a boldly colored silk jacket with a parade uniform feel over a frilly skirt, followed by a series of mini-prom dresses with graphic color-blocks of turquoise and acid yellow over stark black and white. In places there were fairly obvious nods to the recent collections of both Balenciaga and Miu Miu which didn’t distract from the overall strength of the collection. He saved the best ’til last, a stunning column gown and a double-breasted vest with a peplum over a draped and gathered floor-length gown in shades of navy.
