BORROWED FROM THE BOYS
New York: In conjunction with his menswear show, John Bartlett presented a capsule collection of womenswear, his first designs for the ladies in ten years. Meant to be a feminine complement to his signature styles, the pieces were inspired by classic menswear. Sporty knickers, plaid button-up shirts and pantsuits were charmingly tomboyish, while a high-waisted tweed pencil skirt was all woman. Traditional fall tones like olive, navy and warm browns were injected with pops of bright orange, enlivening tailored separates. Lustrous leather pieces, including a standout button-up shirt in deep olive, were a highlight, adding richness and texture to the looks.
