New York: One can always look to Jill Stuart for a dose of femininity, even when the look of the day is mod or grunge or high-tech. For spring, she did not stray from her formula, presenting the romantic dresses, delicate tops, and fluttery skirts for which she is known. She did not eschew all trends, however. The season’s ubiquitous sheers made an appearance in her collection, giving looks a light, airy quality and balancing out the heaviness of jacquards and satins. Soft tones of blush, lilac, and mint complemented the dreamy mood. –Joanna Manganaro
