Jill Stuart established a new, darker direction last season with a rock and roll collection based on female musicians like Stevie Nicks and Françoise Hardy . For S/S 10 she took inspiration from a flashier decade, channeling the disco era as well as the current style of Balmain designer Christophe Decarnin. Abbreviated, body-con silhouettes were directly on-trend, as were touches of metallic, animal print and lace, while this season’s must-haves like paneled leggings, shredded tops and peplum bustiers also made an appearance. Stuart’s newest work furthers existing trends, taking these popular, sexy looks into the next season.
