PARIS…Jeremy Scott is truly a fashion maverick, to use a current cultural buzzword, moving from the U.S. to Paris a few years ago in order to show his outrageous designs in the City of Lights and shake up the chic crowds. For S/S 09, Scott hosted one of the most sought after parties of the week and showed a typically energetic and statement making collection. Statement slogans such as “Let Them Eat Gas” and polka dot bike shorts similar to those at Henry Holland made the ’80s references clear, while patterns of roses interspersed with bomber jets on voluminous dresses more subtlety raised his political point. Key pieces to evaluate for inspiration included bright, short sleeved jumpsuits, off the shoulder necklines and pointy-toed, athletic high tops. Don’t miss out on all the fun Jeremy Scott suggests for juniors.
