PARIS…Jeremy Scott is one of fashion’s favorite pranksters, enjoying a loyal following with many of the industry elite for his disregard for more staid tenets of chic. Showing in Paris is sometimes out of step with his designs, but the crowd seems to love him anyway, reacting with enthusiasm to his pop culture references and juniors friendly silhouettes. For F/W 09 the designer looked to circus colors and symbols of communication, reproducing a telephone keypad on black body-con dresses and graphics of old fashioned handsets on suspender pants. Confetti prints and hearts also appeared, creating a somewhat schizophrenic theme, which was only tempered by a healthy dose of black and slim silhouettes. Look to Scott for his youthful energy, basic graphics and stiff ruffles.
