Jen Kao

Jen Kao’s faceted panels of fabric clung to the body, suggesting vintage foundation garments and creating an hourglass silhouette for jersey dresses and skinny pants. Mainly working in a limited palette of buff, slate and optic white, Kao also included a refreshing teal, which worked especially well for a suede skirt suit with lattice cutouts at the elbow. Influences from Japan were felt in delicate silk kimonos with silver embroidery.
