Jason Wu

Jason Wu pushed his signature ladies-who-lunch look forward this season with luxe fabrics, quirky color combinations and dressmaker techniques. The 26-year-old Taiwanese designer has received much attention after dressing First Lady, Michelle Obama, and has since been determined to raise the bar. His signature fit-and-flare silhouette was used for a belted dress in white satin overlaid with intricate looped and knotted black embroidery. Pin-and-ink Rorschach-esque prints were used for minis and sheer tops. Contrasting tiers created a striped effect for a miniskirt that was cinched with a bejeweled belt. Hair was twisted with tulle and pinned up into messy buns, and super-vamp lipstick turned all things ladylike into something offbeat.
