Jansport <3's Skip Yowell

Sometimes letting go isn’t easy, especially when it’s with a company you started over 40 years ago. Skip Yowell — the bushy-mustasched co-founder of Jansport — is doing just that.  He’s retiring, but has found the perfect compromise to keep closely tied to the brand.  Skip will now be the global ambassador for Jansport, keeping his foot in the door but letting go of the majority of his day-to-day responsibilities.

For the close-knit brand it’s like seeing a family member move away.  So to help Skip celebrate his retirement they threw him a huge party at Outdoor Retailer.  Fake mustaches, Skip paraphernalia, special guests and an intimate performance by Chromeo helped the Jansport family and OR attendees send Skip off with a bang.  We’re not worried about what Skip does next because as it said on Skip’s famous bandana
“Life is an adventure and the path is unknown.” – Skip Yowell
