The Active Team was on site taking in the festivities at Coachella “part deux” this past weekend and made a special stop at the Jansport Bonfire Sessions in between sets. This was second event of 2012 (the first took place in Austin during SXSW) in a series of free outdoor concerts that will bring emerging talent to the people, in an open-air environment, under the big beautiful sky.
The “secret location” in Palm Springs featured indie-sweethearts, Crystal Antlers, Bleached and FIDLAR, ensuring a legit West Coast offering. Jansport gave away backpacks from its Heritage Collection as well as some updated classics like the Right Pack Monochrome in Purple Power. Matt Goldman was also tapped to create a limited edition silk-screened prints for fans to take home. The next stops on the tour are Toronto, Seattle and San Francisco, and all of the performances are being captured on film for a music documentary that will live on Noisey.com (VICE’s new Music Channel) — so this project will continue to influence live, independent music is a major way this summer. Thanks again to Jansport for having us, we had an absolute blast! – Jeanine Pesce
