Williams said: “I’m extremely excited about resuming my role as Jack Wills’ chief executive after a two-year break”
Peter Williams, the founder and majority stakeholder of UK juniors retailer Jack Wills, is running the business again following the departure of CEO Wendy Becker.
Becker joined Jack Wills in 2012 as COO and took the top job in 2013 when she was tasked with leading the brand to an IPO.
But following a review of its options the board has now halted its float plans “for the time being” and Becker has stood down with immediate effect, she remains a shareholder in the business.
She said: “I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Jack Wills and, as a member of the board, fully agree with the decision not to press ahead with an IPO at this moment. I wish Peter and his colleagues every success in building on Jack Wills’ great brand and great heritage.”
