New York: As a New Yorker who lives in Tokyo, designer J.Sabatino brings a multi-faceted point of view to his designs. That global perspective comes through loud and clear in his clothes, often with unexpected fusions of influences that result in some of the most thoughtful styling of the week. Inspired by the 1975 Alain Delon film, Le Gitan (The Gypsy), the F/W 11 presentation conjured a darkly romantic mood, complete with dirt on floors, twinkling lights and an accordion player, all set in a gritty theater on the Lower East Side. Each piece perfectly captured the spirit of the roguishly handsome vagabond.
