It girls: The Chinese KOLs to know

KOLs, key opinion leaders, continue to be the key, defining influencer within China’s fashion industry. However, as more of the influencers attend global events, their influence is beginning to be felt within the international community, and the gap between them and their international peers is beginning to close.

Aside from offering inspiration to their Chinese followers, these influencers are a great way to understand what’s trending in China, and partnerships could offer access to the Chinese consumer.

In our recent It Girls: Chinese KOLs report, WGSN highlighted the influencers to be aware of and partner with. Take a quick look at our favourites.

 

 

Cherry Gun

One of China’s earliest fashion influencers, Cherry Gun has been digitally active since the days of BBS. Based in Shanghai and with a decade of experience, Cherry Gun is well-respected as a blogger and stylist.

 

 

Cristine Sun

Cristine is a fitness blogger and influencer known for her activewear-inspired style.

She also works with her photographer boyfriend to create audiovisual travel and lifestyle content for her WeChat micro blog.

 

Wenjun Lau

Wenjun is a blogger who regularly collaborates with brands. Her WeChat micro-blog features a steady stream of fashion content about events she has recently attended, alongside her styling advice and takes on the hottest and latest trends.

 

Wu Yingnan

Fashion industry insider Wu Yingnan is the designer behind accessories brand Rfactory. Wu is known for her distinctive look and the popularity of her bags among style influencers.

 

Wenxin Hsieh

A model with a strong following on Instagram, Wenxin Hsieh is originally from Taiwan. After earning her MBA in the UK, she moved to Shanghai to build her career.

 

Yuwei Zhangzou

An MBA graduate of ESG Paris, Yuwei ‘Yuyu’ Zhangzou is a trilingual consulting buyer for boutiques and department stores. She has been featured in global fashion publications such as ELLE France.

 

Zhang Jiayi 

Designer, stylist and fashion blogger, Zhang Jiayi is a popular for her decidedly cool aesthetic – and her 1.2m weibo followers prove it.
