Isabel Marant

Paris: Isabel Marant has built up quite a reputation for combining her innately chic sensibilities with a distinctly laid-back aesthetic. This season she took her muse to the American Southwest, but rather than looking dusty and unkempt, the designer kept the looks sophisticated and clean with a stark palette of mostly black and white. Traditional Navajo patterns, intricate patchworks, and a plethora of shearling, suede and denim added a rustic touch to basic buttonups, roomy jackets, slouchy sweaters and other wardrobe staples Marant is known for. As per usual, the footwear threatened to steal the show, with a range of ultra-slouchy suede boots that will most certainly carry their weight at retail come fall.
