PARIS…French native Isabel Marant delivered a crowd-pleasing collection of wearable separates that were perfectly geared toward the young women’s market. Her hefty S/S 09 collection was one part bucolic beauty and one part rocker chick, while slouchy chain adorned boots in brown and black solidified the looks. Marant didn’t stray far from current trends, capitalizing heavily on country florals and soft plaids. Relaxed jackets and casual denim helped to tone down ultrafeminine layers of ruffles and delicate embroidery. While Marant played it safe in most respects, what emerged was a cohesive collection laden with bankable looks that juniors will no doubt be craving for spring.
