Launching back in July, the WGSN Future Makers programme partners 26 individuals with mentors from WGSN, from design to sales, HR to content, we’ve drawn on our global pool of knowledge to match everyone with the mentor that can help them the most. We caught up with Caroline on her inspirations, goals and the difference we can make in the world.
At the moment I’m a Community Manager at an agency called b+ca. I monitor social media accounts from artists such as Karol Conka, Tim Maia and Capital Inicial.
I’d definitely say my graduation project from my time at university. I created a fashion film with a script based on Black female representation. Beyonce’s Lemonade was my main inspiration and reference.
My biggest inspirations are influencers such as Maga Moura, Larissa Cunegundes, Luanda Vieira, Marina Santa Helena and Carla Lemos, because I feel that they represent me and in a way inspire me and encourage me to achieve my space and not give up on my interests and goals.
I love fashion because I see it as something that drives my creativity, and because the skills that I’ve always wanted to develop all relate to it, such as trend forecasting, production, photography and more.
Is there anything else that drives your work?
Currently diversity and representation issues. Even though they are largely being discussed now, it is something that I want to bring and work with, because I believe that we can engage even more in actions that will make the difference that we so want for the world.
Caroline is mentored by Sofia Martellini, who leads the content at WGSN’s sister brands Use Fashion and Start by WGSN. Sofia is a content strategist specialised in researching trends and understanding how they will impact the Brazilian market.
