New LA womenswear brand Road to Awe shows why the west coast remains the hotbed for premium denim.
With only one collection under their belt and Holiday 13 due to drop soon, designers Eli Azran and David Rimokh of Road to Awe (RtA) have already made their mark on the premium denim market with their collection of sensual designs that marry feminine silhouettes with an androgynous accent. The LA based design due made their debut in July of this year with their F/W 13 line of streetwise denims that have drawn a high-profile client base in the city.
The success of the label is how the duo make everyday jeans seem special. Premium accents like two toned destroyed denims, high gloss coatings, extreme acid washes and frayed silk edge hems add a tough-luxe edge to the sleek feminine shapes. Meanwhile strong rock influences are injected throughout with wrap around skirting on jeans, exposed zips, waxed black finishes and motocross detailing. Ripped, distressed and patched details contrast strongly with the sleek glossy and metallic coatings. Men needn’t worry as the pair have plans to release a menswear line in near future.
