As you already know we are always on the look out for new and interesting denim brands. Most recently we were excited to hear about the contemporary and innovative brand, 69

69 is an L.A-based, non-demographic brand headed by an anonymous designer. The designer who remains anonymous has many years of design experience under their belt. The creator of 69 does not want to give the brand a face or have any focus on them as an individual but rather let the brand speak for itself. 69 is ambiguous in all senses of the word and the design concepts are never imagined and decided upon with gender in mind.

Available on their website or from specially selected boutiques – such as Opening Ceremony, are an assortment of unisex styles for all size ranges. The androgynous silhouettes in lightweight denims translate well for both sexes, and this is something we are definitely into! The line offers a range of fluid atypical denim separates, overalls/jumpsuits, dresses and accessories in deep blue casts, natural tones and charcoal. Many items have a fun textural element or are adorned with upscaled prints and fringe-work for a playful undertone. Pieces range from $150- $400.

In a recent interview available to read on the LA Canvas blog, the creator of 69 explains.

“69 is a symbol that has transcended its original meaning to become what I envision the brand to be. That is a symbol that represents everyone.”

Making their debut three years ago with their unique design concepts and striking silhouettes, 69 are definitely a brand we are going to keep an eye on. As a whole the brand has a youthful and carefree attitude whilst also possessing a contemporary aesthetic and we think this is refreshing.
