Designer Cory Forsyth and former Creative Director at Google Creative Lab Ji Lee have come up with a ‘calmer’ way to experience the Internet.
As the saying goes, ‘a picture is worth a thousand words’ – Wordless Web is a browser plug-in that removes all copy from a web page leaving only images and a white background space – viewers are thus left to interpret the visuals as they see them.
“You’re free to enjoy the images in their purest form, without names, labels, definitions, or purpose. It makes the pictures we see across the web more mysterious and open to interpretation of our own imaginations,” explains Lee.
In a world saturated by information, this project provides fun respite from the chatter and information overload of the Internet. It also makes us wonder what purpose the Internet would serve if it no longer contained information.
