Exploring and celebrating the trend for digital craft, the Craft Council exhibit Lab Craft: Digital adventures in contemporary craft features 26 designers who combine traditional skills and aesthetic sensibilities with digital technologies such as laser cutting and rapid prototyping.
Curated by design commentator Max Fraser the exhibit showcases some of the most experimental digital crafters working in the fields of ceramics, jewellery, glass, textiles and furniture.
Pieces include Bubble jewellery from Lynne MacLachlan that mimic the structure of bubbles, which have been generated using computer aided design and Shine by Geoffrey Mann exploring the reflective properties of a metallic object using digital crafting techniques.
The exhibition will be kicking off at Tent London in the Brick House, Brick Lane during the London Design Festival September 23rd-26th then moving onto Manchester from October 30th to December 18th.
