Cult movie director, celebrated artist, and more recently musician, David Lynch is expanding his credentials once more and foraying into the field of Interiors, opening his first nightspot Club Silencio in Paris this autumn.
Housed in the basement space of Le Social Club at 142 Rue Montmartre, Club Silencio will comprise a bar, a restaurant, a private film screening theater, concert hall, and an art library, and derives its name from the eerie fictional club in Lynch’s most celebrated film Mullholland Drive.
The entire space will be specially curated and designed by the great man himself, right down to the fantastical furniture details that include wooden speakers with eyes and bespoke sofa’s with integrated side tables and footstools.
‘I enjoy how architecture and design create mood’ explained Lynch in a recent interview with the New York Times. We can only expect the ‘private members’ club to bring to life the surreal Lynchian cinematic style he is most renowned for.
Club Silencio will open its doors in September at 142, rue Montmartre, Paris, 75002 — Samantha Fox.
