Industrial Chic

They’re coming along quite nicely on Andre Balazs’ new Standard Hotel in the Meatpacking District. It’s looking very industrial chic, in keeping with the neighborhood. The hotel stands on two tall concrete risers or columns with the Highline train tracks running directly underneath the building. It appears as though it will be completely glass-fronted and looks a bit like a Japanese pod hotel. I’m sure it will be overrun with wannabes immediately upon completion, but today it looked like a bit of Copenhagen or Barcelona had been plopped down on Washington Street.

    I am becoming obsessed with those high moccasins, they are starting to pop up everywhere, maybe an alternative to Uggs, whatever, I want them!!!
