Incase has issued its fifth installment of the Curated by Arkitip project, this time tapping perhaps the most glamorous of all modern graffiti artists, André aka Monsieur André . Born in Uppsala, Sweden, André started his prolific graffiti career in Paris during the audacious 80s. No stranger to late nights and a love for all things taboo, André eventually opened Le Baron in 2004, an elite club created from a former bordello in Paris. Later, he moved on to test his hand at marketing collaborations with high-end brands like Belvedere Vodka.
The items feature original André artwork—the distinctive “Mr. A” character, skinny legs and a top hat—screen-printed on the iPhone Slider Case as well as on the MacBook Sleeve. The sleeve is made of a faux-leather construction, cotton-lined interior and André-branded YKK zipper pulls.
The design on the back of the sleeve is reminiscent of monograms used by the famous Parisian trunk company Goyard, perhaps a nod to the iconic brand that has set the standard for elitism in France since the 1850s.
“Curated by Arkitip is a project designed for Incase aimed at delivering artistically embellished Apple® products to users who have an appreciation for the creative arts and technology. All artists are carefully chosen by Arkitip for their dedication to their respective art forms and unique points of view.” Past collaborations have included experimental design agencies and world renowned graffiti artists.
