While in Paris ferreting out fantastic items for the vintage archive, our Paris correspondent took me for steak frites at a bar called L’attirail in the 2nd. While this local hole-in-the-wall is known for it’s good food, reasonable prices and live music I was most impressed with the walls. Every wall was covered in vintage photographs, passport photo extras, old currency, expired identifications, antique postcards and original art from patrons over the years. This collective collage created a vintage kaleidoscopic wallpaper that is truly a one-of-a-kind wall covering. And while the walls almost looked planned in their chaotic perfection, we were assured that patrons can add to the wall whenever they like.
