This was a tricky year, you don’t need me to tell you. With so much going on socially and politically it seemed like the world was so shaken up that all we could do was retreat and hide. But, just when we’d kind of all given up hope, people power reminded us all of the magic that we have.

Union Square is a subway stop in New York, one of the busy ones because a number of trains go through there. But this fall, the most exciting thing about that subway was the outpouring of love via Post-It Notes. The Post-It notes written by school kids, strangers, tourists and even tough New Yorkers, were all about love, coming together, standing up for the richness of diversity and just spreading a little joy. And one wall covered in Post-It Notes became numerous walls, decorate in bold, bright neon Post-Its, determined to brighten up all of our days. And then it became an Instagram hit, and so even if you don’t live in New York, but you need a little joy, just search for the Union Square Post It wall and smile.
