With the the “aughts” safely behind us, many are turning towards that decade of minimalism, super models, plaid everything and television full of teen angst (we’re looking at you, “My So-Called Life”) for inspiration. London-based Selfridges is taking us back to the 90s with a special pop-up shop. Open from January 11 – 29, the special space will be curated with a collection of original 90s and 90s-inspired fashions, accessories, beauty products, books, films and design items, including vintage styles from the likes of Vivienne Westwood, Azzedine Alaïa and Jean-Paul Gaultier, IDEA’s edit of the most seminal publications of the era, HMV’s showcase of the top 50 films of the decade, Beyond Retro’s authentic 90s uniform and M.A.C’s presentation of key makeup trends from the decade. As an added bonus, DJs will be spinning some of the major hits to really inspire shoppers.
