PARIS…Hussein Chalayan might not be a usual choice as a go-to designer for Juniors, with his explorations into mechanical dresses and laser light shows. However, this season, a parade of directional yet realistic dresses formed a wearable and inspirational collection. Fabrics with shine were incorporated into almost every design, and the silhouette focused on a narrow halter neck with hanging, draped volume and gathering. A muted palette of grey, red and black set off some creative patterns as well, such as photo prints and oversize houndstooth. A creative, youthful look at the continuation of the dress as key item and functional wardrobe staple.
