It’s January, when all conversation turns to fitness. But there’s a new type of t-shirt making waves on the gym floor, and in the candlelit yoga studio. Long gone are old, battered, pale white t-shirts, and in their place is the ‘keeping it real’ statement tee.

You know it when you see it. It’s been championed by big brands like Victoria’s Secret and Private Party, as well as local fitness studios producing their own clothing lines like Y7 studio in Brooklyn.
