London: London’s hip young things flocked to the House of Holland show, and the paparazzi went wild for front-row attendees Alexa Chung, Kelly Osborne, Pixie Geldof, and Poppy Delevingne. Designer Henry Holland’s cool girlfriends, starting with BFF Agyness Deyn, have always helped him get press, though, in the past, some may have argued, undeservedly. But Holland has come a long way from the cheeky tees that put him on the map, and this season, he presented a much more grown up collection. The first look, a tailored pantsuit in a blown-up windowpane print, was sophisticated and showed off his technical chops. Holland went on to offer slouchy layered looks, easy floral dresses, and patterned knits, all reminiscent of 90s grunge. There was even a blotchy print that resembled the ubiquitous Hypercolor T-shirts of the era. Though show’s colorful finale reassured fans that Holland hasn’t lost his sense of humor, despite the new grown-up looks. –Joanna Manganaro
