The legendary Savile Row tailors Gieves & Hawkes has recently opened a new store in Hong Kong. Located on Ice House Street, the store is currently showcasing the ‘Handmade in England’ collection that is designed by Creative Director Jason Basmajian. Every piece in the collection is created in Britain, and includes items such as peacock blue velvet dinner jackets and sophisticated urban tweeds. Ray Clacher, Gieves & Hawkes Managing Director, said of the opening: “As the proud holder of three warrants to the British Royal family, Gieves & Hawkes is delighted to be able to showcase the finest British craftsmanship in the center of Hong Kong. We believe that our values of understated style and understated style and unquestioning quality will resonate with discerning men in the region.” A bespoke cutter from their London flagship location, the prestigious No.1 Savile Row, will frequently visit the store to offer bespoke tailoring services. The store’s design is sophisticated with gray flannel-covered walls, copper and bronze fittings and perfectly showcases its refined menswear. – Babette Radclyffe-Thomas
