Swedish fashion giant Hennes & Mauritz said Monday group sales for August, including VAT, jumped 19% year-on-year in local currencies, well above the 13% increase analysts expected. For the Q3 June 1-August 31 period, sales including VAT increased 16% in local currencies to SEK 45.26bn ($6.33bn), or by to SEK38.8bn excluding VAT. H&M’s total store count rose to 3,341 as of August 31, up from 2,964 a year ago.
The retailer’s nine-month report top August 31 will be published on 25 September 25.
