Fashion’s most loveable mouse is no stranger to the catwalk and the retail sphere. This season alone, the mouse will be spotted teaming up with British print designer Cath Kidston for a fashion and interiors collection that launches on September 26th and across the pond, US retailer Gap is also teaming up with Disney for a Mickey and Minnie Mouse themed clothing line set to hit stores in October.
WGSN has tracked Mickey’s movements from a sport & street trend alert in 2010, a festival flash in 2012, and an emerging trend report to the 2014 collaboration between Copenhagen-based streetwear brand Wood Wood and Disney on their capsule collection for both men and women. The twenty-four piece collection featured Mickey Mouse stretched and distorted for an original take on the familiar cartoon.
