With a sea of minidresses, designer Max Azria reworked Herve Leger’s original body-conscious shapes in new materials and crafty techniques. Leger’s signature hourglass silhouette continued to be achieved with elastic tape that wrapped the body with horizontal bands, but this time around the bands were printed with blurry grey shadows. Strips of denim in varying washes were criss-crossed, knotted and woven into X-shapes on sheaths. Small stones and crystals on a strapless lurex-knit version echoed the X-motif, creating a shimmery effect.
