For the man who has everything but a $158,000 alligator jacket, the new Hermès store on New York’s tony Madison Avenue will serve him well. The four-story store, the first men’s-only Hermès store in the world, just opened on Monday night with an editor’s preview followed by an elaborate party at the Park Avenue Armory. Located at 690 Madison Avenue, the shop has four floors with everything from cashmere sweaters to ties and a baseball glove for $8,500. On the top floor, the well-heeled shopper can find things he’d have trouble finding anywhere else, including Made-to-Measure suits and customized outerwear made from exotic skins. Hermès executives claim the store was meant to be “…intimate, like the ideal dressing room.”
