Paris: In keeping with the sports-driven themes of this season, Hermés menswear designer Véronique Nichanian boosted her clean silhouettes with a dose of active appeal. The show opened with a series of tonal, tailored layers in all-blue, then swiftly moved into sporty separates. Humble canvas served as the base material for the collection, but underwent a range of techniques to emerge in lustrous and gauzy permutations. Baseball jerseys, basic tees, raglan sweatshirts and lightweight windbreakers were worked in luxury materials like suede, silk or sheer knits, and even croc — this is Hermés after all — and the energetic palette featuring shades of acid yellow and poppy red was calmed with subdued hues of taupe, crisp white and inky blue. An offering of large canvas tote bags trimmed in colorful leather will surly please beach-going women as well.  —Anna Jane Davis
