With much of the music savvy world embracing the MP3, Elise Morin and Clémence Eliard of SMALL MEDIUM LARGE design studio have been collecting our compact discs to construct Waste Landscape.
Currently on display at Paris’ Centquatre space in the Halle d’Aubervilliers, Waste Landscape consists of 65,000 CDs that were hand-selected and sewn together to create tremendous mounds from our small, everyday discards. The artist and architect hoped to bring attention to the life cycle of our waste, and how a once modern commodity has joined the ranks of other technologies abandoned by society.
Waste Landscape is showing until September 11, 2011
