Harrods Gets Active

Harrods, one the biggest (and most prestigious) names in the world of retail superstores – with a longstanding address in London – recently unveiled its massive new luxe Sports Department. Located on Harrods’ fifth floor, the space includes…“top-of-the-line equipment and exclusive pieces from a range of must-have designer brands.” Everything from Emporio Armani’s EA7 line, Moncler, Reebok, Nike, Sweaty Betty, Wilson, Bogner and Ralph Lauren to classic English labels like Barbour – each with its own section and build-outs.

With REI’s new opening this week in New York City, it’s only fitting that Harrods is also picking up on the urban fitness trend and committing to providing a wide array of active assortments for its shoppers.

Stylesight was on hand to snap a few pics of the floor, including a few party photos from opening day, on November 10th 2011. Singer and British reality star Peter Andre was in attendance along with other guests who enjoyed the opportunity to take part in a slew of interactive activities such as yoga, testing out fitness equipment and, of course, it’s England…rowing machines. Soulmate Food who offers healthy and nutritious alternatives, along with detoxes, provided snacks and drinks for the festivities.

This certainly won’t be our first trip to the fifth floor! Going forward, we’ll definitely continue with updates on the new department and its evolution. – Jessica Kaplan
