Airbnb has partnered with colour authority Pantone to create a bookable living space that celebrates Pantone’s Colour of the Year 2017, Greenery, and the fresh start that it offers.
Filled with plants and natural materials, the space begins with a Greenery-painted front door, which leads into a woodland entranceway and on to a greenhouse structure that houses a kitchen herb garden, communal dining area, and hydroponic plants from Farm Shop, all tended to by groundskeeper Joe.
Down the ivy-wrapped concrete staircase lies a grassy bedroom, planted with sleep-inducing plants; a cosy kids’ teepee; and a bathroom with a living moss bathmat, waterlily-filled bath and technicolour rainbow lighting.
While the Outside In House pops up this week, Airbnb users can book it online to stay for a night. Proceeds from these bookings will be donated to AIGA.
As well as celebrating all things Greenery, the event aims to draw attention to Experiences on Airbnb Trips, a feature that enables users to book local experiences just as they do accommodation. The Trips on offer from the house include gin tasting, terrarium making, Tai Chi and Tea, and wallpaper printing, all hosted by local experts.
