Among all the shows at Magic Market Week, Pool & Capsule remains the most exciting in terms of directional graphics. Each season ushers in new ideas as trends of seasons past linger. Here are a few key graphic directions that grabbed our attention:
Altered-Luxe re-emerged as a key direction for F/W 13. Fashion houses are having their ultra-recognizable logos turned into silly slogans, while brands are having a go at a luxe spin on their own names. Our favorites were the simple yet clever graphics by the team at Reason Clothing.
The darker side of graphics continues as Occult-style graphics continue their reign through this season. Illuminati-Style Pyramids & Freemason-Like graphics conveys non-sensical information referencing witchcraft and other dark arts.
Cats. These fluffy friends were represented in all possible ways — cats in hats, cheerleader cats, laser cats, retro photo-real cats. Its all about the meow-of-now and designers and buyers alike just cant seem to get enough.
