Graphic, geometric, crafted and futuristic at Peter Pilotto

London: Crown Princes of Print, and current recipients of the Vogue Fashion Fund – Peter Pilotto and Christopher de Vos – were in a playful mood with colour cleverness as a game of snakes and ladders led their board game inspiration in this collection. With lace appliqué, embroidery and bonded velvet, their prowess in modern fabric innovation combined with love of colour and childhood games. Intricate handwork, needle-punch through boucle jacquards, pinball to snowfall shapes, the duo expanded their strong signature from digital to crafted prints and covetable luxury fashion pieces. The collection opened in whites, intensified with embellished bright primaries and a palette of rose, caramel, greens shot with chartreuse, peacock blue and mandarin before completing the circuit, and a finale underlined in black. Block colour coats had over lock stitched circuits criss crossed over their surface and woolen embroidery blossomed with silk crepe and icy crystals as old school ideas took them to next generation statements. – Camilla Morton
