Milan…Stefano Gabbana and Domenico Dolce were ready to break free from their recent seasons of sophisticated tailoring, and instead focus on what they know best: skin, glamour and an over-the-top sensibility. Evolving their trademark “pajama chic” look from the last couple of seasons, they lined ripped jeans with classic patterned silk. There were shawl collar smoking jackets for evening, but these men weren’t going to just any black tie affair. In-your-face animal prints and graphic abstract patterns were layered on top of each other in a way that almost presented a caricature of the trademarks for which the design duo are known. Almost each of the models walked out with a version of a clutch, for what nobody will ever know. A concluding group of suits were bedazzled with crystals sewn in various swirling motifs, making sure that the Dolce man of S/S 10 always stands out wherever he goes. Day and night looks were all piled together, which is really what Dolce & Gabbana has always aimed to accomplish.
