Intricate bead work and appliqués can always be expected at any of Ricardo Tisci’s Givenchy collections, but when it comes to Couture it seems he raises the bar even higher.
That is true not only for his outlandishly capes and gowns, but also for the footwear selections for Fall. A mix of street and couture is always a top priority for the designer, and the result were evening sandals with ornate applications and stone work that are the perfect balance of edge and sophistication.
Kitten heels were key for this collection, not only seen on sandals, but on thigh-high woven boot silhouettes that in addition to the unexpected kitten heel construction, feature an open toe vamp, pushing the envelope once again in this eclectic mix that always delivers new-ness season after season. -Jenn Tello
