Gingham is gradually moving away from it’s traditional roots, with active interpretations popping up left and right…
Last summer, we started to see this trend emerge in the outdoor market, remember The North Face Swallow Jacket? We featured it in our Cycling Capsule and this week in Tokyo, we have spotted it is everywhere! Still a top priority item on our list.
Sneakers are next on the list, Supra recently dropped their Assault model in a navy gingham canvas, effortless design that is a total contrast to their traditional use of leather/suede materials.
Vans have also rolled out the gingham carpet with their new pack, that feels a bit retro rebel, if you ask us. The classic looks include the Sk8 Hi, Era and Slip-On, in three colorways with matching suede uppers.
Last but certainly not least, Nike hits us hard with the Tiempo, their interpretation for running shorts. We are totally feeling the black on black update.
