Getting Medieval

Hi – it’s Eddie. I’m in Oslo now…my first time ever visiting Norway. It’s a bit chilly and rainy at the moment here…this post is coming to you from underneath the comforter of my hotel bed! Over the weekend though we had some nice sunshine so I headed out to Oslo Live. A new entry on the European summer festival circuit (it started in 2008), the line-up is a mixture of international and Norwegian artists. (Seeing fellow New Yorker Santigold headline made me feel not quite so far from home.) The best thing about the festival is the location – right in the middle of central Oslo and directly adjacent to an amazing 13th century medieval fortress and castle. They also allowed ins-and-outs…so if you weren’t too jazzed for the port-o-potties or festival food you could wander up the street and actually have a meal and use a real bathroom. The back wall of the site though was the 30-foot high stone wall of the fortress which still has a military presence – so forget about sneaking in. Check out some of my photos from the day…xx
