Milan: Genny seemed to take the feminine trend we’ve seen across collections and run with it, offering a show full of feminine colours, embellishments and prettified fabrics – many with pearlised and sheen finishes, and when lacking – diamante embellishment to make up for it. Halston-esque full-length gowns grounded the collection in a loosely 1970s theme with cocktail dresses and evening suits adding to the glamazon look. If Jeremy Scott referenced Barbie very literally in his latest Moschino collection, then Genny’s reference was marginally more subtle. These are pieces for the woman who knows how to have fun. – Elle Hankinson
