Even though designer Bumsuk Choi’s collection has been around for five years, it is just now starting to get the attention of fashion’s movers and shakers. With an assortment of clothes fit for an urban warrior, S/S 10’s offerings had a lot to say about updated silhouettes of classic items like suits, shorts and sweaters. Tailored jackets had exaggerated, sleeveless shapes, usually in lightweight, crinkled fabrics. Gladiator sandals, worn with each look, added to the Japanese warrior feel. Pink was the only pop of color in an otherwise black, white and grey collection, and the exploding facet patterns that showed up on every possible classification added even more interest. Continuing the idea of reinvented classics, the cropped, sleeveless trench with Samurai shoulders was by far the stand-out piece in the entire collection.
